Announcement: California Chorus for 2020 State Conference Theme Announced – ‘Music of the Women’s Suffragette Movement and the Empowerment of Women’

If you enjoy singing, please consider participating in the CSSDAR Chorus where new members are always welcome! The California Chorus will be presenting a concert at the 2020 State Conference to be held in Northern California on March 12th – 15th, 2020, in San Ramon with the Debutante Celebration Dinner on the 14th.

This year’s theme is “Music of the Women’s Suffragette Movement and the Empowerment of Women!” A long title which I’m sure I’ll shorten before next March. I am nearly finished putting the music together which should be finished later this month or September. So, the music will be ready to send out early. It will be a combination of music from the early 20th Century that our ancestors wrote, sang, and marched to! It will also include more contemporary music from Carole King, Helen Reddy, Aretha Franklin and others! It will be a fun-filled musical cornucopia!

Since it is the women’s suffragette theme, I wanted to get this out early in case so that you could put together an appropriate “costume” of the era, which is available online for around $40.00 plus shipping! Or you can put one together; basically a long-sleeved white blouse, long black or dark blue skirt (could be gray, too), sash, and hat, although a wide-brimmed hats will obstruct the view of other ladies behind you (tall ladies could have them!!) – and I may have one!! 🙂

If you are interested, please email me, Tica M. O’Neill, at: ticaoneill88@cs.com to be added to the CSSDAR roster and to receive the music.
