Announcement: Urgent Request from DAR Project Patriot National Chair for Returning Soldiers

The DAR Project Patriot National Chair, Stephanie Wolfley, has sent out an urgent request for help. The 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky, will soon be finishing a nine-month deployment. Their main deployment project is “Operation Dressing the Barracks” for approximately 800 single soldiers who will be returning to the barracks.

Why is there a need? Deployed troops pack up their belongings and put them in storage before they deploy. When they return from deployment, they do not gain access to their stored belongings for 1-2 weeks. As a result, for the first couple of days before they can even get to a store or find a loaner set of sheets, they have no way to launder their clothing and have to sleep on bare mattresses.

The committee would like to receive new twin or twin XL sheet sets, light colors and / or laundry detergent pods which may be purchased online and sent directly to:

Items should arrive by August 30th in order to give the committee time to prepare the barracks for troop arrivals.

Thank you for helping to “Rise and Shine for America” and supplying a welcome home to our beloved troops.

DAR Project Patriot State Chair
