Chapter Chatter: Lake Tahoe Chapter Daughters Volunteer to Keep Tahoe Blue

As nighttime falls each 4th of July, thousands of tourists and residents gather on the beaches of Lake Tahoe to watch fireworks from Stateline and Incline Village.  The next morning those beaches are littered with everything from food containers to cigarette butts to used diapers.

Enter the League to Save Lake Tahoe that promotes the “Keep Tahoe Blue” campaign. Early in the morning each July 5th, volunteers organized by the league gather on assigned beaches to clean up what was left the night before.

Lake Tahoe Chapter’s Conservation Chair, Carrie Champness, made sure that Lake Tahoe Chapter was assigned to beautiful Nevada Beach on the lake’s eastern shore this past July 4th, 2019.

Lake Tahoe Chapter Daughters are committed to conserving and protecting this beautiful natural resource that is the chapter’s namesake.
