Committee Announcement: Earth Day – Monday, April 22, 2019

Earth Day was founded in 1970 as a day of education about environmental issues and this year is celebrated on Monday, April 22, 2019. This holiday is now a global celebration that sometimes is extended into Earth Week, a full seven days of events focused on green living.

The brainchild of Senator Gaylord Nelson, hoping to raise public awareness of pollution, Nelson wanted to bring environmental causes into the national spotlight through Earth Day.

Please go to your local cities website for Earth Day events in your community.  If your chapter takes part in an Earth Day event, please send me photos.
