Chapter Chatter: Redwood Forest Chapter Presents Excellence in Community Service Award

Redwood Forest Chapter presented their Excellence in Community Service Award to Kirby Bradshaw-Nunn for her dedication to the preservation of the Myrtle Grove Memorial Cemetery in Eureka. Bradshaw-Nunn was present to receive her award at the Redwood Forest Chapter’s meeting on March 9, 2019.  The chapter registrar, Catherine Mace, presented the award.

Bradshaw-Nunn received this award, along with a pin, in honor of her countless hours spent recruiting volunteers to locate, clean, and preserve grave markers. She has also updated the cemetery records and maps by researching county records, as well as posted on-line memorials to the website, “Find-A-Grave”.

At our March chapter meeting, Bradshaw-Nunn shared stories about her work, and answered questions about the history of Eureka’s historic pioneer cemetery.
