Chapter Chatter: Lake Tahoe Chapter Honors New United States Citizen

On March 19, 2019, Lake Tahoe Chapter Daughters gathered together at the Tahoe Keys home of Regent Sally Holcombe to honor a local resident who recently took the Oath of Citizenship in Sacramento.

Jessica Sosa Torres – a resident of South Lake Tahoe since the age of eight, a graduate of South Tahoe High School and a student in Lake Tahoe Community College’s Bachelor of Arts program – is now officially a citizen of the United States. Members of Jessica’s family attended her Sacramento swearing-in ceremony and were present at the DAR celebration.

After everyone shared in the refreshments, Jessica was presented with a certificate of congratulations and a copy of the DAR Citizenship Manual for her to give to another immigrant seeking United States citizenship. Congratulations to Jessica!
