The Anne Loucks Chapter held their annual JROTC awards meeting February 9th, 2019.  The Bronze JROTC Medal was awarded to First Lieutenant I. McMillian, Olympic High School JROTC, and Silver DAR Outstanding Cadet Medals were awarded to Cadet Technical Sergeant H. Nilsen, Diablo Composite SQDN 44 Civil Air Patrol, Corporal C. Quach, Golden Gate Young Marines, and Cadet Staff Sergeant M. Bergen, Travis Composite SQND 22 Civil Air Patrol.

The DAR recognizes JROTC cadets who have distinguished him or herself through outstanding leadership, honor, service, courage, and patriotism. This year, for the first time, all of our award recipients were young women. Each of these fine officers have excelled in their service; dedicating many long hours helping to strengthen the lives of America’s youth. They have consistently set examples for others to follow through their academic achievements, engagement in JROTC, Young Marine, Civil Air Patrol Cadets Corps programs, volunteering, and fundraising efforts. Congratulations to all!

The awards ceremony was attended by cadets and family members, their instructors, and chapter members. Presentations were made for each cadet highlighting their special talents and achievements. Everyone enjoyed a buffet luncheon provided by chapter members.

All officers were presented their appropriate certificates, medals, and a pocket version of the United States Constitution by Leslie Ann Pfeifer, State Chair DAR Scholarship, ROTC Chair, and former Anne Loucks Chapter Regent.
