Committee Update: Patriot Records Project Needs You!

CALIFORNIA DAUGHTERS

Do you have a computer?  Do you have a spare hour (or more) in your week?  Do you want to help DAR document new patriot service – possibly even one of your own patriots?

Here’s the perfect deal for you!  And yes, there is a pin for that!

The Patriot Records Project is working on documenting American Patriots. The project began with the Continental Loan Books of Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and New York. The Continental Loan Books contain the names of men, women and businesses who helped to finance the War for Independence.

Other collections that are scheduled to be indexed include the South Carolina Audited Accounts, North Carolina Audited Records and many, many more collections.

It is a great way to help DAR and you don’t have to leave home to do it!

It’s disappointing to learn that of all the California Daughters we only have 26 – yes, that’s just 26 – signed up to work on this project.  We do have a couple of super stars that have indexed over 10,000 names just this year.

Yes, you!  Yes, now!  You will be glad you did!

So, by State Conference next March, let’s reach at least 100 California Daughters signed up for Patriot Records Project, if not more!
