The 2019 Outstanding Junior Contest is one of the best ways to encourage Junior members in their DAR journey. This award recognizes a Junior members’ hard work both in DAR and the community and allows your chapter to be acknowledged for its support of Junior Membership. Each chapter should select a Junior (a member 18-35 years of age) as its Outstanding Junior Member prior to September 30, 2018. There is no points requirement for naming a Chapter Outstanding Junior. Chapters may wish to purchase a Chapter Outstanding Junior Member pin from Hamilton Jewelers or a Chapter Outstanding Junior Member Award Certificate from the DAR Store Online to present to their chapter winner.

If your Chapter Outstanding Junior has earned a minimum of ten points, she may then compete for State Outstanding Junior. All State Outstanding Juniors go on to compete for National Outstanding Junior. The State winners and National finalists are honored at the Junior Membership event during Continental Congress. The contest culminates with the presentation of the National Outstanding Junior Member and the national runner-up on a designated evening at Continental Congress.
