Chapter Chatter: Gaspar de Portola Chapter in the 2018 Redwood City 4th of July Parade

Gaspar de Portola Chapter members and family spent many hours designing and decorating their patriotic float for Redwood City’s Fourth of July parade, the largest and longest parade in Northern California.  This year’s float had a band playing patriotic rock songs and were dressed in colonial costumes portraying General George Washington and his army crossing the Delaware. The float and band were well received by the parade audience and judges alike with Gaspar de Portola Chapter winning first place in the Amateur San Mateo County Float category! The Gaspar de Portola Chapter has participated with a float and walkers (including other District IV chapter members) for the past six years and looks forward to the 2019 Independence Day parade.
