Chapter Chatter: Aurantia Chapter Judges Local History Day Competition

Last month Aurantia Chapter had the honor to help judge the History Day competition for Riverside Unified School District. Mary Katherine Coovert, Judy Dillard, Debbie Hill, and Judy Bengston studied fabulous displays built by children in grades 6-8.  Tackling the topic of Conflict and Compromise, these children were passionate and well versed in their chosen subject. Simply put, they were amazing! Over and above moving on to the County level, three projects were chosen for special DAR awards. A group project on the attempted eradication of the American Indian culture, an individual project on the formation of Pakistan and Kashmir, and another group project on Marian Anderson and the DAR. We will be keeping a close eye on these projects as they progress up the ranks to the National level! Go Riverside!!
