District VIII Hosts Application Workshop

On a very wet and stormy Sunday, January 22nd, District VIII Director Susan Dawson, welcomed members from all six district chapters and two new prospective members to an Application Workshop, as a follow up to the CDRC Workshop held at the State Headquarters.

The theme of the day was “Aiming for Perfection”. State Volunteer Genealogist Committee Co-Chair South Gayle Reizes, Lineage Research State Chair Bunny Smith, and Alliklik Chapter Registrar Sheryl Kolt presented the ‘How To’ of the DAR application. The team answered numerous questions regarding the order of abbreviations, correct lineage, and covered the many facets of the DAR website and e-Membership. A cheer went up when patriot Samuel Clark appeared on the screen greeting his prospective member.

Upon departure, the members were well prepared to continue their research and application process. Thank you to Linda Mustion of San Fernando Valley Chapter who served as SCGS volunteer librarian for the day.
