Dear Daughters,

I am so sad to tell you that Honorary State Regent Jean McNew died on Saturday evening October 22nd, in San Rafael, CA. Jean’s family was with her as she passed.

Jean was El Marinero Chapter’s Honorary Regent and served as California State Vice Regent from 1994 to 1996 and State Regent from 1996 to 1998. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William B. McNew, who passed on September 30th. She is survived by her sons, Geoffrey (Janise) and Kevin (Nancy), and her sister, Faye Higgs of Tennessee.

Jean’s Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 12th, 1:00 pm at Keaton’s Redwood Chapel of Marin, 1801 Novato Blvd., in Novato, CA. Following the service, there will be a catered reception at the home of Rebecca Viebrock, 381 School Rd., Novato, CA, (415) 897-6753.
