San Clemente Island Chapter awarded Shirley Sauvageau the prestigious NSDAR Community Service Award at their chapter meeting Wednesday, September 14.  Shirley is an active volunteer with Daughters of the American Revolution, Mission San Juan Capistrano, Friends of the Library, Mission Basilica, CREER tutoring program, Delta Kappa Gamma, and California Retired Teachers Association.  She has volunteered worldwide with Global Volunteers traveling to China, India, Greece, and Africa.  Shirley is the ultimate example of a volunteer tirelessly serving her community.
