State Regent’s Message : September 2016

BevOvalHappy New Year, California Daughters…September to me always recalls memories of going off to school, new adventures and new friends…thus it is for us.

We’re kicking off the new year for Chapters and Districts, as well as our State and National Societies. It’s not often that all are brand new administrations at the same time but so it is this year. Our Fall Council meetings in September have beefed up workshop agendas, to help new officers, leaders, and members learn about changes and leadership. We also have outstanding speakers at both Councils on saving the Monarch Butterflies, what we can do and how to do it. If you haven’t registered yet, please sign up on the WebStore or mail in your registration, and get involved. It’s going to be fun!!

Your State Regent has been busy working with your leadership team on a new Handbook, new Yearbook, new Committee appointments…so many “news”…we’ll all be learning together.

We had the privilege of visiting very recently the site at Camp Pendleton where the Iwo Jima Memorial is planned, overlooking Interstate 5 and the Pacific Ocean, visible to those driving or viewing by water. You’ll love it and be so proud. Plan to hear more in the near future.

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you at the Council meetings and at your Districts. One of my goals is to know all of you!!

Soaring in Service to God, Home, and Country.
