The time for dues collection is upon us and as many of you are aware, voting delegates at Continental Congress last month received a proposed bylaws amendment concerning the raising of National dues by $3.00. An announcement was placed on the NSDAR website July 1st in regard to changes in the President General’s Projects Donation. “Moving Forward” is the name of the President General’s Project of the Dillon Administration 2016-2019. During the June 19, 2016 National Board of Management Meeting the following rulings were passed about the President General’s Project. Please review the entire notice on the NSDAR website. Of importance to the chapters are the following:
- With a contribution of $100.00 or more to the President General’s Project the donor may purchase the President General’s Project pin.
- With a contribution of $1,250 or more to the President General’s Project, the donor shall become a benefactor and will receive the benefactor pin. All benefactor gifts will qualify the name of the donor to be placed on the “Moving Forward” donor wall.
- In order for Chapters to achieve 100% participation for the President General’s Project a donation of $2.50 per member per year (a total of $7.50 during an administration) should be contributed. The date of record for the chapter membership count shall be taken from the official count as of January 1 of the year immediately following a new administration. For new chapters, the chapter membership count shall be taken from the official count on the date the chapter is confirmed and will change to January 1 with the beginning of the next administration. A chapter that attains 100% participation during a National administration will be entitled to a President General’s 100% Chapter Participation certificate.
Please plan for this increase in your chapter budgets for the new year.
Note: Before these rulings, the benefactor contribution had not been increased in 22 years and now focuses attention on the next 125 years. The chapter 100% participation contribution had not increased in 28 years.
