On June 9th the Don Jose de Ortega Chapter held its 45th Annual Flag Day Luncheon and Fundraiser with over 80 attendees enjoying food, fun, friendship and awards, and netting almost $5000 for our many projects. USAF JROTC members from Robert Fulton Preparatory School received awards as did Vietnam and Iraq veterans who attended. Our traditional table centerpieces were food baskets given to the Sepulveda VA food pantry following the event. The event speaker was Brian Regalbuto as “Mark Twain”, with musical interludes of Stephen Foster tunes on the harmonica and ukulele by David Burns. A special hand-made jewelry set, a money cake worth $150 and over 175 raffle or auction prizes were won by happy attendees.
