The 2016 Memorial Day service was held at the Greenwood Cemetery.  American Legion Post 274 and Veterans of Foreign War Post 2542 presented the service.  Girl Scout Troops from Arcata and McKinleyville presented the Colors and also did the retirement of the Colors.  Boy Scout Troop 9 of Arcata also helped with the service.  Music was performed by Adamas.

The guest speaker was Commander Olav M. Saboe, Deputy Commander US Coast Guard, Humboldt Bay Sector. The photo shows the Redwood Forest Chapter,NSDAR members Janet Fallis, Lee Albright and Kathrin Burleson with the guest speaker, Commander Olav Saboe.
