Chapter Chatter: Alta Mira awards Dallas Pattee with Women in American History Medal

Dallas Pattee was awarded the Women in American History medal and certificate at Alta Mira Chapter’s Spring luncheon, April 16, 2016.  Dallas, a member of the Board of Directors for the Tulare County Historical Society, is recognized for her work with the Society preparing and presenting her “Tales from the Tombs.” She created this live performance program in 2000. Over the past 15 years it has been performed at four different cemeteries in Tulare County. She does the research and writes the scripts, bringing to life pioneers buried in those cemeteries. She has published articles in Los Tulares, Valley Voice and Tule River Times.

Dallas does public speaking on 19th Century mourning customs and memorabilia. Dallas worked on the “Shades of California” project and has served on the Friends of the Fox Theater research committee. As a photographer.
she has contributed photos for many historical publications an exhibits.
