On February 13, 2016, the Redwood Forest Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution presented this years’ Service to Veterans Award to Steve Justus, who is the founding chair of the North Coast Honor Flight. Honor Flight is an organization dedicated to celebrating and recognizing veterans.

Justus has spent countless hours raising funds and processing paperwork for over 400 veterans to visit the Washington DC World War II Veteran’s Memorial. In thanks for their service to our country, many of the veterans who experienced this unforgettable trip were over 90 years old.
