State Regent’s Message: February 2016

Carole-FrameThe 108th Annual State Conference is fast approaching.  We anticipate a great turnout at the San Ramon Marriott in San Ramon, March 10th through 13th.  Your conference chairman and her hard working committee want to make sure you have a special time, and they have a busy schedule planned for all of us.  Please look at the Call to Conference posted on the Members’ Website for details.

The State Conference is the annual business meeting of our California Society.  The members of the State Board look forward to being with all of you attending and to hearing the reports of the outstanding accomplishments of our many committees and chapters as we have done good works during the year.  The conference is also a time to meet other members, to share ideas, to problem solve, and to have fun!  It is a time to celebrate your dedication and your hard work during this past year.  It will also be the kickoff of the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the California Society.  And it’s the time to elect the officers for the next CSSDAR administration.

What fun it was to participate with other California Daughters last month at the Old Ticketing Terminal of Los Angeles Union Station when PBS’ Genealogy Roadshow rolled in for the taping of the final episode of the season. Several lineage and genealogical societies were there to offer assistance to people looking to find their ancestors. We were all “behind the scenes,” so to speak, and had opportunities to visit with the other exhibitors. When this episode will be aired is still undetermined.  Stay tuned!  We’ll let you know!  See you at State Conference!

As we Celebrate America!
Celebrate 125 Years of the California Society!
And Celebrate Service…to God, Home, and Country!
