Peter Ballantyne, President of Guitars for Vets, La Jolla Chapter, presented a program about how the organization uses music therapy for veterans with PTSD. This remarkably effective program helps these veterans by giving guitar lessons which has been proven to help with depression and anxiety. Mr. Ballantyne brought along two program graduates that also spoke about how the music program positively affected their lives. There is a long waiting list of veterans who desire to take the guitar lessons as the organization struggles to provide enough teachers for the demand.

The Chapter presented Mr. Ballantyne with a $200 donation which will provide 12 guitar lessons and one acoustic guitar for one veteran. After the program, the members and guests enjoyed a delightful appetizer party with a productive monthly chapter meeting that followed.
