September 17, 2015 begins the national celebration of Constitution Week. Our American Constitution stands as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties and freedom, and to ensure those inalienable rights to every American. In 1956, the Daughters of the American Revolution petitioned Congress to set aside September 17-23 annually to observe Constitution Week. The resolution was adopted by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. In honor of Constitution Week, the Redwood Forest Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, designed a display on the second floor of the Humboldt County Library.
