Now is the time to begin thinking about a person that would be a good candidate to receive one of the THREE Veterans Volunteer Awards which will be given at the State Conference.
– Outstanding DAR Service for Veterans
(Given to one of our own DAR members)
– Outstanding Youth Volunteer
– Outstanding Veteran Volunteer
Last year’s veteran volunteer winner, Oscar Polster, also received the award at National. What an inspiration and an honor for our State. Let’s see if we can have one of our candidates do as well this year.
Talk with your Chapter’s DAR Service for Veterans Chairman and your Regent. There is a lot of paperwork to be filed out and it is not an easy job to put an application together. The correct forms are required and they have to be filled out accurately for the judges. Absolutely everything you need to know about these three awards can be found on the National website:
The deadline to have all information to this State Chair is December 1, 2015. California has an earlier deadline than what is listed by National in their instructions. Any submission received after the December 1st deadline date will be returned to the Chapter.
