Online scam artists are everywhere. While doing a routine Google check for the state society’s book, “Vietnam War Memoirs as Written by California DAR Daughters,” this officer came across two sites – one at google.sites.com, the other on YouTube – offering free versions of the book.
Do not be fooled. These are scamming sites that ask you to register or subscribe, then take your personal information for illegitimate uses. There are no legitimate sites offering free versions of the book. The book is available at $9.99 through Amazon.com, Kindle and CreateSpace eBooks.
