State Headquarters after painting.

The recent preservation of State Headquarters was completed in less than a year and in time to be unveiled at the December 2014 Christmas Tea. Complete information regarding what was done and the cost can be found on the State Headquarters Preservation Committee website. Included are recent photos of completed work, a list of major benefactors, and an article about DAR member Carolyn Bushnell and her extraordinary service to the State Society in overseeing all aspects of construction and repair.

If you have not visited the web page, it also contains a history of our historic headquarters along with information about how the State Society obtained the property, why we own it, and history of the area. You can also link to the restoration contractor’s website to see all of the amazing historic properties this group has preserved, including the Governor’s Mansion in Sacramento.
