Chapter Chatter: Don Jose de Ortega Offers Stowers Scholarship

The Don Jose de Ortega Chapter is excited to announce a scholarship, which will be awarded to a deserving college student. The chapter is looking for a student, in at least third year, in the field of medicine or education, with an emphasis in science or math, or a nursing student, who has completed at least one semester in a 2 year program.  The scholarship is $500 for a semester, but is renewable for an additional semester(s). The $500 will certainly make a nice dent in the cost of college books!

If you have a child, grandchild, niece, nephew, or other friend or family member who might be interested, please have him or her contact DonJoseDAR@aol.com.  Please write Stowers Scholarship in the subject line of the email.  The instructions and the necessary forms will be mailed or emailed to the applicant.  Forms need to be returned by May 20 for selection this year.

The recipient does not have to be DAR or DAR eligible, and the selection committee is willing to consider students in other majors, who are wanting to serve their communities.  Don Jose de Ortega Chapter would love to hear from the students in your life!
