3/13/15 State Conference Evening Update:

At the afternoon and evening Business Sessions reports were heard from the various national and state committees, as well as the first six districts and their chapters.  These reports are a great way to hear about the progress we have made as a state and also to learn what other chapters are doing and to garner new ideas.

A few fun facts learned from these reports include the following statistics for the past fiscal year:

  • California Daughters donated over $17,000 to DAR schools and $5,534 towards desks for Kate Duncan Smith students.
  • CSSDAR gained 721 new members last year and reinstated 55. Eighteen chapters achieved the goal of increasing their membership by 10% or more.
  • Over 21,000 flags were given out by California Daughters and over 3,300 flag events were attended.
  • Daughters enjoyed the pasta bar dinner.

At today’s conference there were 326 registered attendees.

In the early evening a no-host pasta bar dinner was held. Daughters had the chance to mingle and visit with each other in between Business Sessions.

The excitement carried through into the night as separate functions were organized for the Past and Present Regents Club and the Juniors.  These events give Daughters a chance to unwind from the day with friends in a relaxed setting.  You never know what characters might turn up at one of these events!
