Chapter Commemorative Events Reports Deadline

The Commemorative Events Committee recognizes chapters for observing special events. In addition to meeting the requirements of this committee, these events may also meet criteria for other committees on the California Master Report. Programs and celebrations coordinated with local communities spread the word about the DAR and its commitment to God, Home and Country. By hosting or sharing these events with friends, neighbors and local communities, we also promote the President General’s theme, “Celebrate America!”

Commemorative events can be many activities: anniversaries, tributes, parades, and memorials. The DAR goal is to encourage chapters to promote the DAR objectives of historic preservation, patriotism, and education.

Some of the best activities are those celebrated in local communities. This chairman hopes that you will strive to discover these, celebrate them, and include them in your reports to be sent to this chair.

Reports are due to the state chair by February 15, 2015, and cover the entire year January 1 through December 31, 2014.
