The State Webmaster has recently come across open chapter websites where no login was required to access the content. Please keep in mind that any content not meant for public consumption (e.g., meeting places and times, member names with birthdays or other private information, chapter newsletters, yearbooks, photos) MUST be kept private. That means access to this information may only be obtained through a username/password login.

If you have an open site with any of the above-mentioned content on it, please send the URL right away to the State Webmaster and she will let you know if it’s OK to keep as is or if it needs to be made private.

Remember that your State VIS Committee now offers password-protected, members-only website templates for you to use. The database management and hosting are handled for you so you don’t have to worry about that. As long as your chapter has a website approved after July 2012, you may request a members-only chapter website.
