Malwarebytes – Keeping Your Comptuer Clean

Malware, short for malicious software, is software designed to infiltrate a computer system without the owner’s informed consent. – Definition from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Malicious software can infect your machine many ways but one of the most common ways is through internet searches. There is nothing you can do to prevent this type of attack. Surfing the web is like driving a car, you can be riding along the internet highway, up kicks a rock and cracks your operating system. It is the price you pay for being on the internet highway. Malwarebytes was created to clean a system of sypyware/malware. There are many types of spyware/malware software that can be downloaded and installed and after running a scan it will identify the problem but will not allow you to repair it without paying to upgrade to the full version. Malwarebytes is different, you can install the software (free full version) and do the system scan and fix any issue it finds. What it does not do is the auto protect which will start up as your system boots and runs in the background while you are using your system. The auto protect is in the PRO version and it not necessary if you are using Malwarebytes along with a virus software. Best practice is to have a virus protection software such as Symantec or McAfee installed along with a spyware cleaner such as Malwarebytes. If you conduct a lot of internet research it is good to update the definitions for Malwarebytes and run a system scan every couple of days to get a good measure. If the system is coming up clean you can stretch the system scan to every couple of weeks or once a month. Malwarebytes can be downloaded at www.malwarebytes.org.
