NEWS FROM TAMASSEE DAR SCHOOL – DECEMBER 2013

Well the campus is in full holiday swing! Last weekend was the first performance of the Children’s Program followed by the Family Holiday Meal in the Dining Hall.  Their first performance of “Have You Seen Christmas?” was a huge success and we hope their next two will turn out as good!  Thank you Sumter’s Home Chapter (SC) for directing and producing the production.

The children will be participating in two holiday parades this upcoming weekend and are currently working on their float. The Florida Girls will be attending a traditional party held by Philadelphia Winn Chapter in Georgia on Saturday and Tuesday evening the local Lions Club will continue their longstanding tradition of dinner with the children in the Dining Hall.  Afterwards, each child will be presented with a bag of fresh fruits and nuts.  Christmas traditions will continue throughout the season which include the Angel Tree outings for those children who will remain on campus throughout the entire holiday.

The cottage decorating contest will kick off this weekend with the winning cottage being announced at the Tamassee DAR School Christmas party.  Last year, Florida won the honor and the spirit of competition is building to de-throne them this year!  The campus is so very festive during the holiday with the starlights and the decorations all around the cottages.

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and we thank you for all of your support and for the positive influences you make on the lives of the children!

For the children,
