NEW NATIONAL COMMITTEE – CELEBRATE AMERICA!

The Celebrate America Committee is a new National Special Committee formed by the Young Administration to honor and celebrate DAR’s dedication to public service and to also bring awareness to the general population that we are not just a lineage society! Please read this chairman’s new web page on the CSSDAR Members’ website for complete information.

The goal is 1,000,000 hours of public service each during the three year term. This is a very modest task and averages just 6 hours per member per year. We know California already does much more than this!

The hours will be reported on the Master Questionnaire. Remember that many things we report may count toward other committees Don’t forget to include them!

There are two suggestions on how chapters can record these hours:

(1) Give each member a record sheet to track their own numbers at home. A time sheet will be available on the CSSDAR Members’ website soon.

(2) Circulate a record sheet at every meeting and let members briefly record their work. This may create enthusiasm and give ideas to others regarding projects they also might like to do. We encourage you to appoint a chapter chairman. The committee chairman can track and total these hours for the Master Questionnaire.

Another exciting thing about this committee is that it provides a way for members who do not attend meetings due to distance, age, or health, to participate and feel part of their chapter’s efforts.

The state chairman looks forward to some awesome numbers from California!

Please contact this chairman with your questions.

Thank you.
