State Regent’s Message – September 2013

Greetings California Daughters!

I hope your summer chapter planning is complete and you are ready to start a new and exciting DAR year!  This officer just returned from the Fall Forums in North Carolina. I was honored to travel with the North Carolina State Board starting in Asheville and ending in Raleigh.  It was a beautiful trip across the state, and of course, we exchanged ideas, and had too much fun. The North Carolina Daughters were so warm and friendly, it felt like I was right at home.  It was an amazing experience.

As most of you know, we have a new National Executive Board. We are fortunate to have our own Karon Jarrard serving as Corresponding Secretary General and we thank her for her service at the National level. The new Young Administration will “Celebrate America!” during its three-year term of office. This is your opportunity to perform meaningful public service in the community. The goal of the administration is to reach at least one million hours of service. Please read the State and National committee web pages for more information, and visit the committee table in the exhibit room during the Fall Council meetings.

To begin the second year of the Jamison Administration, here’s a favorite quote from motivational speaker  Bo Bennett: “Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity.”  That certainly describes our California Daughters.  I hope you all have an outstanding year of service to DAR and to America.

Bee Inspired and Take Flight!

Debbie
