FUN AT THE STATE HEADQUARTERS OPEN HOUSE & BBQ

On April 27th, the Headquarters Administrative Committee invited members and guest to attend the State Society’s annual spring open house at State Headquarters in Glendora, California. For the first time ever, a catered barbeque was held. The weather was glorious!  Over 100 members took their places on the shady outdoor patio at long tables covered with red and white checkered table cloths. Headquarters committee members set up the event, made the decorations, and acted as hostesses for the day. Docents were on hand to give tours of the property.

Before the grub was ready to be served, State Regent Debra Jamison greeted us with a “Howdy Pardner,” and “Preacher” Sandra Orozco gave the meal blessing. Most of those in attendance were dressed in western duds, including special guests, National Parliamentarian Carole Belcher and Honorary State Regent Karon Jarrard. The meal was mighty tasty and consisted of hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, pasta salad, watermelon, scrumptious desserts, iced tea, and punch. After the meal, several lively State board members got up and “cut-a-rug” to old-time Western music.
