SOMETHING NEW AT THE CALIFORNIA CONGRESSIONAL TEA JUNE 2013

California Daughters from all over the state will soon be traveling to Washington, DC, to attend the 122nd Continental Congress. It will be wonderful to see many of you at the California Tea, Tuesday, June 25th, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., at the JW Marriott Hotel, in Salons F&G. We are so excited about honoring our own Carole D. Belcher, National Parliamentarian, for her service to the National Society during the last two administrations!

If you have not made your reservation, please do so before June 15, by using the form available on the CSSDAR Members’ website under the “Documents and Forms” link, or by utilizing the CSSDAR Webstore at https://webstores.activenetwork.com/school-software/california_state_soc/ . If you have questions, please send them to Catherine Baumann, Tea Chairman, catbaumann@gmail.com .

This year the menu for the event includes imported and domestic cheeses, sliced seasonal fruits and berries, raw vegetable crudité and assorted dips, salami, mortadella and provolone cheese with marinated vegetables drizzled with balsamic vinegar, and assorted crackers and breads. We will have a French Pastry Table with miniature éclairs, napoleons, fruit tarts, petit fours and chocolate covered strawberries. Beverages include blueberry/mint water and strawberry/lemon water, regular and decaf coffees, and assorted teas.

Many members have asked over the years about having wine at our event, so we have arranged a cash “wine” bar this year. Wine will be $9 per glass – cash only – and you may select from Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and White Zinfandel. The hotel’s fee for the bartender has been donated and was not included in the individual ticket price for the event.

Safe travels to everyone as they head east to Congress, including Honorary State Regent Leonora Branca and her husband, Sam, who are driving across country on vacation to DC!
