Shelter Pets Comforted by Young Citizen

Wanda Prosser, Kaden Rutherford and a sample of the blankets & towels

Twelve year old Kaden Rutherford went searching for his lost dog. He didn’t find his dog but he did find his calling. He noticed animals lying on bare floors or huddled together on bits of cloth. He took his allowance, birthday money, and any donations that he could get. He began going to the Goodwill and Salvation Army, gathering old blankets. Kaden has taken hundreds of blankets to the local Humane shelters, with hopes of spreading to all of them in the county. Wanda Prosser, regent of the Santa Margarita Chapter, was honored to pin the Good Citizenship medal on Kaden, present him with a small check, and a slew of blankets and towels brought in by chapter members. Our future bodes well with young people like Kaden.
