Panamint Springs Memorial Day Event

Historian Judy Bradshaw, Regent Pat Richard, and Chaplain Colleen Murphy

Every Memorial Day at the Desert Memorial Park in Ridgecrest Panamint Springs members participate in the annual observance sponsored by the local Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter. Many organization representatives, escorted by Boy Scouts, placed wreaths in memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Naval Air Warfare Center, China Lake, often provide the Color Guard and the VFW performs the Two-Bell Ceremony with a POW flag covering an empty chair.  Prior to the program American flags had been inserted at each grave site.  This is always such an impressive sight.  Regent Pat Richard and Chaplain Colleen Murphy represented Panamint Springs in the wreath laying ceremony.
