El Redondo Chapter held its installation luncheon on Saturday, June 9, at the Tin Roof Bistro in Manhattan Beach, CA. As well as installing officers for the new year, awards were presented, and eight new members were welcomed. The “El Redondo Chorus” sang along with the members our favorite DAR song which was written by incoming Regent Fran Bock. In 2010 Fran received the NSDAR American Heritage Committee National Honorable Mention Award for Music/Vocal for her song “Of Thee I Sing.” Scholarships were presented to three deserving students representing two local high schools. New officers are: Regent Fran Bock, 2nd Vice Regent Christy Wilson, Chaplain Georgianne Seko, Recording Secretary Beth Collier, Treasurer Francine Bostrom, Registrar Kitty Crowley, Historian Joan Harmon, Librarian Cynthia Thursby, and chapter Press Secretary Blythe Peelor.
