Hannah Hillis, a recent Burroughs High School graduate in Ridgecrest, is the 2012 recipient of the Panamint Springs Chapter Scholarship.  Committee member Lola Brinkmeier presented the $500 check to Hannah who read her award winning essay. Hannah’s mom, Debbie Hillis, was present to see her receive the scholarship.  Hannah will be attending Cerro Coso Community College in Ridgecrest and then transfer to Cal Poly to study Zoology.  Hannah is active in the community and has participated in the Desert Community Orchestra, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and has entertained at care facilities for the elderly, as well as playing in a quartet for a Maturango Museum fundraiser.
