The Past & Present Regents’ Association of District XIV held their annual meeting at MCAS Miramar. President Sandra Bill of the Linares Chapter was ably assisted by Vice President Jane Zoch of the Letitia Coxe Shelby Chapter. Sandra saluted the theme Fiesta Days with a lesson in Mexican hat dancing, a quiz on commonly used words and phrases, and skits by local notables. The afternoon was topped it off with a humongous taco salad for lunch. Laurel Lemarié of the De Anza Chapter will lead the newly elected, aka railroaded officers, for 2013. Linda Phillips, La Jolla; Susan Zimmer, Linares; Adele Lancaster, Santa Margarita; Joyce Lang, San Diego; Irene Hobbs, Letitia Coxe Shelby; and Jan Quigley, Rancho Buena Vista. Forty-four past and present regents attended, had a grand time, and are looking forward to next August.

Photo-ops are always a hustle and bustle affair. There are multiple cameras in the hands of dedicated women who want to get a shot of “their member.” What they usually get are women looking in various directions. At the photo op for the new officers of the Past and Present Regents’ Association of District XIV, Sandra Bill, caught this picture of Wanda Prosser trying to bring some order to the session by lining up members with cameras so that everyone could get a shot and the officers would look their best. In the background are some of the new officers looking for their spots in the lineup. As you can see from the accompanying article on the new officers, it worked out pretty well.
